Valley Leadership is one of Arizona’s top business development organizations. Its standout project is The Valley Leadership Institute that cultivates the development of emerging and current leaders.

Lincoln Strategy Group proudly supports the work of Valley Leadership and our co-founder Meghan Cox serves on its board. At our firm, we practice the principles of cultivating civic engagement and advancing worthy pursuits on behalf of our clients. These principles are also shared by the team at Valley Leadership.

The Valley Leadership website says:

“We think of ourselves as a leadership laboratory where theory meets reality. By drawing from the expertise of the State’s most respected and influential business, civic and community leaders, we provide real-time realities surrounding the most important issues shaping our community today, and in the future.”

Each year, the Valley Leadership Institute accepts approximately 50 class members. Those leaders are selected via a competitive interview and application process. The local leaders who are chosen come from a variety of industries ranging from business and politics to nonprofit organizations. Once selected, these individuals attend a nine-month program.

Valley Leadership “curates each Leadership Institute cohort through a robust selection and matching process that builds a diverse group primed to deepen their passions and advance their pursuits…together.”

Ellie Ziegler, a 2014 graduate of the program, had this to say about her experience:

“Other than my parents, Valley Leadership Class IX was the catalyst to give more of my time and resources to those less fortunate. In doing so, it created the most joyful and extraordinary experiences of my life.”

After graduating from the program, Ziegler went on to become a Valley Leadership Woman of the Year. The award is Valley Leadership’s annual honor which is bestowed to a man and woman who are making a “long-term contribution and commitment” to supporting next-generation leadership.

Not only is Valley Leadership’s Man & Woman of the Year Luncheon one of the premier business events in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, but it’s also an opportunity for executives and leaders to come together to celebrate some of the city’s unheralded heroes for all they do for our community.
